Before I felt the call to ministry, I worked in various reporter and editor positions at the Waco Tribune-Herald and as a copy editor at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. One of the defining events during my tenure at the newspapers and during my first semester at Brite Divinity School at TCU was the Branch Davidian standoff outside of Waco. Processing the events of the standoff and the related bombing at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City left me with a deep desire to help people experience the true Messiah by leading them to the throne of God’s grace and by helping them experience the transformative power of the Holy Spirit...
Tim Hammond
Business Operation Manager

Tim joined the SJA staff in January 2019 and has been a member of SJA since 2014. He has brought a diverse knowledge of operations management and facilities management from his 17 years in an array of businesses. He has managed operations ranging from 25 employees to 250+. He is a champion for servant leadership, organization and decluttering, and strives to support all the rest of the SJA Staff. Tim has served on Church Council and Council of Ministries. He’s also involved in Sounds of Grace choir and a seasonal brass band. Tim is a life-long Arlington resident, and he and his wife, Trish, live in Dalworthington Gardens with their daughters, Helena and Sophia.
John Moran
Director of Worship Ministries

John is the longest serving member of the SJA staff. He participates in all worship services: for the 9:00 Traditional services, John plays piano and directs the choirs; for the 11:11 Celebration service, John leads the Praise Band. John came to SJA in 1998 as accompanist for the Children’s Choir, and he has held many positions since then. He was named Director of Music in 2002, and in 2006 he began leading the SJA Audio/Visual Team. John is a Fort Worth native. He received degrees in Piano Performance and Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University in 2001. He has worked as accompanist for the Dallas-Fort Worth Ballet/Texas Ballet Theater, private instructor in Southlake-Carroll ISD, percussion section member of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and is a very active professional freelance musician in the DFW area. John and his wife, Katie, live in Arlington with their son, Jack, and golden retriever, Daisy.
Linda Formagus
Congregational Care Director

Linda Formagus joined the SJA staff in January 2011. She has worked as a lay leader in missions, children, youth and hospitality over the last 45 years. Linda served as a church preschool secretary for seven years and retired from the Arlington Independent School District in 1998 as the principal’s secretary of a Junior High School. She has participated in the Walk to Emmaus and has served as a leader on 2 additional walks. Linda enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family. Linda oversees the church library and is instrumental in keeping it up to date with current materials. Linda’s responsibilities as Congregational Care Director include Caring Partners Prayer Team and Hospitality Team. Linda was married to her high school sweetheart, Vincent Formagus for 50 years, has three grown daughters, three son-in-laws, three granddaughters, two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Sharon Schultze
Director of Children's Ministry

Sharon Schultze joined the SJA staff in January 2019 after retiring from the Fort Worth Independent School District as an Elementary School Principal. Sharon spent 28 years in FWISD as teacher, instructional coach, and campus administrator. She has always had a passion for working in Children's Ministry serving as Sunday School teacher, Choir leader, and Children's Council member at several UMC churches in the Fort Worth area since 1988. Sharon graduated from Texas Woman's University with a BS in Education. TWU is a family thing...both her daughters and husband have degrees from TWU. Go Pioneers! Sharon received her M. Ed. degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. She lives in Arlington with her husband, Ron, who is also a retired FWISD Principal. Their favorite time is spent with their beautiful married daughters & husbands and their adorable grandchildren.
Brendan Voss
Director of Youth Ministry

Hailing from the Texas Panhandle, Brendan Voss joined the SJA staff in May 2022. Brendan joins SJA after having recently completed a hospital chaplain residency in Dallas. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from Texas Christian University (Class of ‘18) and a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School (Class of ’21). He loves all things Frogs and Dogs and attempts to attend or view as many TCU and Yale sporting events as time allows. Brendan is thrilled to work with the youth of SJA because of their curiosity, boldness, and authenticity. Easily the greatest joy in his life, however, is being married to his beloved, Claire. Brendan and Claire live in Ft. Worth where they love to walk alongside the Trinity River, watch too many movies, and attend local musical and theatrical performances.
